Somalia shouldnt be failed because of Kampala bombings

By Obed K Katureebe Reading statements from some key Uganda’s opposition politicians in the aftermath of the June 11th Kampala terrorist bomb attacks, one cant help but feel sorry for the Uganda’s politicians.  As usual their argument is that Uganda should never have gone to Somalia to assist the Transitional government form a government. The argument further gets awful when these politicians say that since Uganda does not share borders with Somalia, we have no reason to entangle ourselves with the Somalia problems. Others have even reasoned that Uganda made a mistake after all to send peace keeping troops in Somalia when most other African countries were shy to send theirs. But those accusing president Museveni forget one thing that this is not the first time Uganda has come under the terrorist attack. In 1998, over 100 students of Kichwamba Technical Institute in western Uganda were killed in similar incident by the Islamic radical rebel movement of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). The Barlonyo massacre of 2004 in northern Uganda where hundreds of Ugandans were murdered in cold blood by the Sudan backed Lords Resistance Army (LRA). However, all these wrong rudiments have been finally defeated by the resolute effort of the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces.
