Somalia:Candidates for the first minister increase in Mogadishu

DJIBOUTI (Sunatimes)-candidates standing for to fill post of prime minister of the Somali transitional federal government headed by President Sheikh Sharif Sh. Ahmed, increased the latest days in the capital Mogadishu, after the resignation of former prime minister Omar A/Rashid Ali Sharma’arke.
There are large campaigns which the candidates who are standing for the vacant post of the first minister, carry on by giving speech to the local and international media and promising what they will do if they are elected to that responsibility.

The candidates are five in number up to now and possibly the number may rise to ten as there are also tribes having meetings to which they plan to get the post to a man of their own clan and calling president Sheikh Sharif to consider them and informing him their right for their politicians to be appointed.

The acting Prime Minister Abdi-weli Ibrahim known as Gonjeh, Mohamed A/risak Abukar from UNPOS officials, A/karim Hassan Jama’, director of the presidential palace, Prof. Mohudin Ali Yusuf, expert for education affairs and Sa’id Jama’ Korshel, and veteran for sport affairs are all hoping to be nominated to the next Somali prime minister post.Read More
