If you met the dude in our times, he would have some pros and cons to offer. For some unknown to him the reason he has a hard time getting dates, but at the same time, he has no problem getting into a car accident.
Just imagine: his car gets smashed against a tree or another vehicle, but the dude gets out of it with no significant damage done to his body. Surely, that’s the dreams, but the scientists have done a series of experiments to discover what humans would look like if they could evolve as fast as cars.
“The truth is, our cars have evolved a lot faster than we have,” says David Logan, a team member on the project and road safety engineer at the Monash University’s accident research center. “Our bodies are just not equipped to handle the forces in common crash scenarios.”
One of the first things Graham would get rid of is the nose. It’s an easily breakable asset. It’s too fragile to be safe in the cars. Secondly, Graham would grow much more fat to protect his organs. And surely he would have a stouter and shorter neck to avoid breaking its fragile bones.
As to the leg bones, he would grow another additional joint just a bit below the knee. It would allow the legs to bend backward and avoid the most common car accident related injuries. Would you be willing to give up your looks for the road safety, if you could? It’s a good question to ask!
